BusinessCOVID-19Wait! Did The CDC Change The Rules Again? | Fuse Technology Group | Detroit & Michigan

January 14, 2022

When the pandemic started almost two years ago, it obliterated our way of life as we’ve known it and rattled small business to its absolute core.  At the time it seemed like the CDC, Federal, State and Local governments were coming out with new rules daily that businesses had to adhere to in a blink of an eye in efforts to stay open, keep the lights on and their staff employed.

Being in the same boat as thousands of other small businesses, Fuse came out with its Covid 19 Screening application making it easier for businesses to adjust, track, and abide by all the new rules and regulations that were flying towards them at a rapid pace. It not only made the tracking process easier for organizations but also added peace of mind. Companies could not only screen but also run reports on that information if that entity was ever audited by a government agency.

Now it’s 2022 and businesses are still being thrown curveballs. The game has changed, however; now, in some cases, employees are required to be vaccinated or have a negative test result every so many days and, if exposed or become ill, they are to be quarantined for a certain amount of time.

Needless to say, this presents another problem for small businesses.  How do you keep track of which employees are vaccinated and which aren’t? Was that employee exempt and submit a test yet? Who has a negative test? Is someone coming back to work before their quarantine time is up?  Or wait, how much time do they need to be quarantined for? Wait, did the CDC change the rules again?  What complicates matters, even more, is “The Great Resignation”! Employees are coming and going from employers like never before.

So, what are businesses supposed to do in order to make certain they are abiding by all the latest rules while making sure their employees are safe and healthy…and not driving their HR person insane?
