I am sure you have heard the term and wondered ” What the heck is it?”
Well to make it short and sweet, cloud computing is an application or desktop hosted on the Internet. The best part is there is no maintenance on the local computers, as the entire thing is hosted on someone’s server farm (Fuse’s hopefully). Now, it’s not a good fit for everyone, as to integrate some of the hardware on your network can be problematic as well as expensive. While it’s still a new technology, it can be a good fit for some, but not all.
Fuse now offers cloud hosting!
Pros:
1. The application or desktop is hosted, so there is little to no maintenance on the local computers, that means anytime someone were to get a new PC, you wouldn’t have to pay for hours of reconfiguring.
2. Universal access, home PC, work PC, access is the same.
Cons:
1. If it’s not a local cloud, meaning it’s not hosted on your network, and your Internet goes down, you lose access to your cloud.
2. There is still difficultly connecting the cloud to some external devices, such as X-rays, scanners, etc.
